Der bliver trængsel på både scene og dansegulv, når de 12 musikere i Les Freres Smith byder på hæsblæsende Fela Kuti-inspireret afrobeat. Les Freres Smith – brødrene Smith – er et musikkollektiv med base i Paris, som i næsten to årtier har specialiseret sig i storslået afrobeat, tilsat groovende vibes, inspireret af ethiojazzen. De har tidligere delt scene med legender som Tony Allen, Kutiman og Franck Biyong og cementeret deres navn som et af afrobeatens mest eksplosive liveorkestre i dag.

Les Frères Smith har før givet udsolgte koncerter på både Global og ALICE. Ikke mindst havde vi glæde af at præsentere bandet i 2019, hvor de afsluttede festivalen ALICE Spectacle med en kæmpe dansefest. Endelig kan vi byde dem velkommen tilbage. Og vi har høje forventninger, når de indtager ALICE i Valby Kulturhus 9. Marts med deres 3. album “MUTATION”. Den anerkendte DJ SpinCycle leverer festen før og efter koncerten med et groovy panafrikansk danseset.

Les Frères Smith – the Smith brothers – is a musical collective based in Paris. For almost two decades they have specialized in magnificent afrobeat with added groovy vibes inspired by the ethio jazz. They have shared the stage with legends like Tony Allen, Kutiman and Franck Biyong and nailed their name as one of afrobeat’s most explosive live bands today.

Les Frères Smith already played sold out shows at Global and ALICE. The closing show at the ALICE Spectacle Festival in 2019 was especially a blast, and so we have high expectations when they return to Copenhagen this March, taking over Valby Kulturhus and bringing their third album “MUTATION”. DJ SpinCycle will deliver some sweet Panafrican grooves before and after the concert.
