HAEPAARY
Den sydkoreanske duo 해파리 HAEPAARY, bestående af instrumentalist og producer Hyewon og vokalist Minhee, skaber et strålende og æterisk lydunivers, hvor oprindelig koreansk musiktradition møder moderne elektroniske genrer som rave, trance og ambient. Med udgangspunkt i de kongelige ritualmelodier fra Joseon-dynastiet, der traditionelt kun er blevet opført af mænd, vandrer HAEPAARY i musikalske grænsebrydningslandskaber hvor den traditionelle musik vækkes til live med en hypnotisk kombination af dyb bas, mystiske vokaler og eksperimenterende beats. HAEPAARY gav en forførende koncert på Roskilde Festival 2024, så vi glæder os til de indtager vores koncertsal.
Meejah
Med deres debutalbum "Queen of Spring" udforsker den dansk-koreanske gruppe Meejah forbindelser mellem koreansk filosofi og nordisk melankoli. De kombinerer bl.a. post-rock, gritty triphop, shoegaze og koreansk pansori og skaber en musikalsk oplevelse, der er på én gang kraftfuld og intim. I 2024 optog Meejah en eksklusiv live-session i KEXP-studiet i Seattle, og i 2023 turnerede de i Sydkorea, hvor de høstede rosende ord fra blandt andre The Korea Times. Herhjemme var de nomineret til den prestigefyldte Steppeulven pris i kategorien “Årets håb” i 2022. Live byder Meejah på en unik og intens blanding af østasiatisk tradition og nordisk tone, formidlet gennem alt fra tibetanske syngeskåle til skurrende guitarflader og eksperimenterende lydlandskaber.

In collaboration with the local promoter group Final Descent, ALICE presents an evening of traditional Korean music in electronic, experimental hues. Experience HAEPAARY, who brings ancient rituals to life with a hypnotic fusion of deep bass, mystical vocals, and experimental beats, and Meejah, who explores the connections between Korean philosophy and Nordic melancholy.
HAEPAARY
The South Korean duo 해파리 HAEPAARY, made up of instrumentalist and producer Hyewon and vocalist Minhee, creates a radiant and ethereal soundscape where traditional Korean music meets modern electronic genres like rave, trance, and ambient. Drawing from the royal ritual melodies of the Joseon dynasty, which have traditionally been performed only by men, HAEPAARY ventures into boundary-breaking musical landscapes. Here, traditional music comes to life through a mesmerizing blend of deep bass, mystical vocals, and experimental beats. HAEPAARY delivered a captivating performance at Roskilde Festival 2024, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to our concert hall.
Meejah
With their debut album "Queen of Spring," the Danish-Korean group Meejah explores connections between Korean philosophy and Nordic melancholy. Combining post-rock, gritty trip-hop, shoegaze, and Korean pansori, they create a musical experience that is both powerful and intimate. In 2024, Meejah recorded an exclusive live session at Seattle’s KEXP studio, and in 2023, they toured South Korea, earning praise from The Korea Times, among others. In Denmark, they were nominated for the prestigious Steppeulven award in the "Hope of the Year" category in 2022. Live, Meejah presents a unique and intense fusion of East Asian tradition and Nordic tones, expressed through everything from Tibetan singing bowls to gritty guitar textures and experimental soundscapes.
