Som band har Moin udgivet en håndfuld singler, to albums og senest EP’en “Clocked Off” (2023), som Boomkat helt utvetydigt roste til skyerne: “Seriously, we reckon this might be their best work”.
Sagt om “Clocked Off”
“Hingeing, as ever, around Valentina Magaletti’s pugilistic percussion and Tom Halstead’s agitated but in-the-pocket basslines, Joe Andrews fires sampled shrapnel from the hip on some of their most rambunctious and bedevilled works, while the addition of Fritz Welch on vocals in ‘I Can’t I Can’t’ surely opens untold possibilities for future collaborations. Seriously, we reckon this might be their best work.” – Boomkat

In English:
With Moin, rhythmic tinkering and improvisational love unfold in a versatile blend of post-punk, doom metal, and electronic music. The London-based trio, consisting of Tom Halstead and Joe Andrews (Raime) and Italian percussionist Valentina Magaletti, is currently promoting their EP “Clocked Off,” which Boomkat unambiguously praised to the skies: “Seriously, we reckon this might be their best work.” We look forward to November when Moin performs at ALICE!
The London-based instrumental trio Moin consists of Tom Halstead and Joe Andrews from the band Raime (Blackest Ever Black, RR) and Italian percussionist Valentina Magaletti, who has worked with projects like Vanishing Twin, Tomaga, and Lafawandah, and who also played an excellent concert at ALICE in the spring. Moin navigates through intersections of alt-rock, post-punk, art-rock, and doom metal, while also delving into more abstract ideas centered on improvisation, found sound recordings, and experimental electronic music. Occasionally, sudden spoken word sequences set a foreboding mood. The sound is direct, yet subtly nuanced in all corners.
The three musicians in Moin have collaborated on various projects over the past 10 years, with Magaletti contributing drums to both Raime albums and performing live with them. As a band, Moin has released a handful of singles, two albums, and most recently the EP “Clocked Off” (2023), which Boomkat unambiguously praised to the skies: “Seriously, we reckon this might be their best work.” Don't miss Moin's concert if you love rhythmic tinkering and improvisational indulgences.
