Party
Friday 10th of November 2023
21:00 to 03:00
ARTEM is hosting volume 2 of ‘THE PARTY OF YOUR DREAMS’ on the 10th of November at Basement <3
At this party we’re only showcasing art and music by women, queers and bipocs and the main focus of the night is to create a party that is safe, playful and dreamy!
You can experience and interact with different art installations throughout the night and release your inner dancing queen to sweet tunes played by cool upcoming DJs. This night is all about giving space to people who are underrepresented in the arts and culture scene. We have asked the artists and DJ’s to present their dream space through their art and music and we can’t wait to share it with you all.
DJs:
21.30-23.30: ezri_dax
23-30-01.00: Lyne
01.00-03.00: DUTY FREE
ezri_dax: Ship’s Log, Stardate 6969: Without any dilithium crystals, we were stranded. After a week of drifting, shifting listlessness, the ship encountered a nebula scintillating and undulating in colors we had only dreamt of. A thrall came over the crew, ready to shake their boredom in sensuous, ecstatic community. ezri_dax was elected to select compassionate speed to bring the crew into transwarp; bump high camp into the stratosphere; and keep it spacey on the 1s & 2s.
Lyne (she/her) is a queer copenhagen based DJ. Lyne presents a cheeky blend of empowering vocals and playful rhythms in her curious approach to DJ’ing. She will bring a mix mostly consisting of hyperpop, rnb and electronic. Be prepared for get hot and sweaty
DUTY FREE is all about releasing and shaking off the stress caused by everyday duties. With a focus on an informal atmosphere, we aim to create a warm and inviting ambiance on the dancefloor, encouraging everyone to let go of self-conscious thoughts. On the 10th of November, they will share our dream of uniting with peers at eye level, creating long-lasting memories and celebrate that we are all imperfect humans doing our best in this journey called life.
Art installations by Olivia Brix (she/her) and Syderation (they/them)
Olivia Brix is a Copenhagen based artist working with concepts surrounding natural phenomenon, playfully engaging and altering human perspective. Her artworks expresses a longing for interconnected experiences with the world around her. Interaction and immersion stands before form and texture, to dissolve the act of a spectator and invite for the artwork to melt with its engager.
Syderation is an artist and visual anthropologist from France but located in Copenhagen interested in the concept of movements and change. Their earlier work used hyper-realism in documentaries in relation to activism, after finishing university they focused on visuals and layers to create beautiful videos diving deep into Tekno and anime esthetic. Recently they have been trying to reconcile their notion of art and academic work to create a style they feel comfortable exploring and fusing art and anthropology together.
ARTEM is a cultural platform that promotes arts, culture and cohesion. We support young, unestablished artists, musicians, activists, writers and other creatives. ARTEM is working to dismantle elitist tendencies in the art and culture scene and create a space that is anti-intimidating and where everybody is welcome no matter their gender, sexuality, ethnicity etc.
We invite you to a special night at Basement where you can experience art installations and music in a safe and loving environment. To create this safe space we kindly ask you to read the following guidelines:
