We at BugCollector feel that schizophrenia is often misrepresented and misunderstood. The goal of this event is to hopefully shine a light on the people who are diagnosed with schizophrenia and highlight the diversity of our experiences.

This is an intimate topic for us at BugCollector as we both are diagnosed and experience our symptoms very differently. For this exhibition we have reached out to a wide variety of people for whom schizophrenia is an everyday part of life, both personally and professionally. To bridge the gap between those with, and those without experience we have invited a diverse array of artists to exhibit their works. From intimate paintings to soft sculptures.

There will be a panel conversation with people who want to shine a light on their experiences and answer questions sent in via social media and mail. The conversation will be moderated by a healthcare professional who works with schizophrenia daily.

After the panel conversation there will be an audio visual performance that will take us a journey through an artists sleep patterns and symptoms.

NOTE: the performance will contain flashing lights and descriptions of symptoms that may be triggering to some viewers. If you’re unsure the performance is for you feel free to contact our mail. The performance is 30min.

The exhibitIon will conclude with DJ sets from BugCollector Co-founders SNIKSNAK and NXDX
