Deres seneste album Of No Fixed Abode udkom på det visionære London-label The Trilogy Tapes.

ENGLISH:
Saint Abdullah is the alias of Iranian-Canadian brothers Mohammad and Mehdi Mehrabani, whose music moves at the intersection of experimental electronics, improvisation, and deeply personal narratives. With roots in both Tehran and London, the duo creates sonic worlds where geopolitics, religion, and social behavior are interwoven into a raw and visceral expression. When Saint Abdullah performs at ALICE, it will be presented as a solo show with Mohammad Mehrabani. The evening will be opened by Swedish-Iranian artist Tehran.
In their studio practice, Saint Abdullah work like sonic archaeologists, digging into personal and collective histories – both the audible and the lost. The result is music that smolders with texture, spirituality, and a sense of unfinished rituals. Over the past eight years, the duo – comprised of Iranian-Canadian brothers Mohammad and Mehdi Mehrabani – has established itself as one of the most compelling forces in experimental electronic music, with releases on labels such as Planet Mu, Room40, Other People, Disciples, and Psychic Liberation. Their latest album, Of No Fixed Abode, was released on the visionary London-based label The Trilogy Tapes.
Saint Abdullah has collaborated with a wide range of influential artists – from Nicolas Jaar, Moor Mother, and Armand Hammer to Sofia Jernberg, John Butcher, and Lawrence English – and each collaboration highlights their ability to create connections between vastly different musical languages. Live, Saint Abdullah creates a raw and immediate space where electronics and improvisation merge into an intense presence. Join a sonic journey in which fragments of culture, belief, and migration are reflected in deep bass, sharp samples, and unpredictable improvisations, when Saint Abdullah performs a solo show with Mohammad Mehrabani at ALICE during Vinterjazz.
Tehran:
Swedish-Iranian Tehran (formerly known as Nadia Tehran) broke through on the Scandinavian scene a few years ago with their hard-hitting, confrontational, and vulnerable expression, as well as their intensely captivating live performances. In 2024, the Iranian-Swedish artist celebrated the release of their new album Husqvarna at ALICE—a doomy, noisy, and furious record that fiercely takes on their hometown of Jönköping. When Tehran opens for Saint Abdullah this evening, it will be with an expanded audiovisual version of Husqvarna.
The concert is part of Vinterjazz 2026. Vinterjazz is a nationwide music festival that spans three weeks and includes around 600 concerts spread across more than 150 venues and organizers from Skagen to Svaneke. Vinterjazz 2026 takes place from January 30 to February 28. See more at www.jazz.dk
