On Friday the 16th of September, the Rhizome extends its roots and invites artists from the Copenhagen scene for an expressive night at Mayhem. We will present concerts by Lucas Chikhieo and Skarv as well as DJ sets by Xenia Xamanek and Lyra Valenza.

🖤Lucas Chikhieo🖤 is a danish-thai electronic composer and musician. His work revolves around grief, family, identity, ghosts, lore and gaming. Chikhieo creates rooms and scenes of complex emotions through sounds made on his computer and by his surroundings. The music contains heartbreaking brutality, softness and fun next to the voices of his loved ones chanting, speaking or communicating through crying machine-made sounds.(✿◠‿◠)

Skarv is the moniker of danish composer and electronic musician Mads Krue Bugge. In his solo practice, he investigates boundaries of electronic sound through materially focused sonic explorations, connecting the physical structures that surround us to the digital plane we inhabit. Skarv will present polished plastic sound grafted on to synthetic beats with energy levels ranging from depressive lows to ecstatically pulsating highs.

Xenia Xamanek is a copenhagen based artist, producer, composer and DJ. Their music and DJ-style often welcomes an unanticipated mixture of sounds, splicing disparate genres and textures. Expect latinamerican perreo and reggaeton mixed with pop, metalcore, emo rap and more that will both make you perrear and headbang. Xenia is one of the founders of UUMPHFF music, an independent record label and music events centering bipoc musicians and music lovers.
