Ka Baird, Vid Edda, Pauline Hogstrand - Mayhem

At Mayhem on Saturday Nov. 20, Polychrome will be hosting a concert featuring New York sound artist and musician Ka Baird, Vid Edda, and Pauline Hogstrand.

Ka Baird is a multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, producer, and performer based in New York City. She is known for her live solo performances which include extended vocal and breath techniques with electronics and psychoacoustic interplay of flutes and other aerophones. She creates a present tense sound with a vigorous delivery that seeks extreme release through physical exertion and psychic extension.

Vid Edda, the duo of Alexander Holm and Chris Shields, work with electronics, field recordings, voice, and analog technologies. They have been developing new music with a Polychrome residency.

Pauline Hogstrand will play a solo set. Hogstrand's solo works implement composed structures in cyclic and extended form for strings, recorder, pipes and percussive instruments, in electroacoustic formats. Hogstrand’s 2020 debut album “The Enterer” was released in collaboration with the Copenhagen based labels No Technique and Forlaget Kornmod.
