ZA! & Perrate:
I ZA!
Deres fælles udgivelse, det kritikerroste album ‘Jolifanto’, fra sidste år, blev kaldt “one of the most important albums in any imagined future of flamenco” i musikmagasinet Songlines.

In English:
Join us for a 2-in-1 concert night where traditional music from Spain meets bold sonic experimentation.
ZA! & Perrate:
In ZA! & Perrate, tradition and innovation walk hand in hand. Behind the musical project is the experimental Catalan duo ZA! and flamenco veteran Tomás de Perrate. ZA!, made up of Pau Rodríguez and Edi Pou, are known for their mash-up sound, where jazz, post-rock, and avant-garde electronica collide. Since the 1990s, Perrate, born in Utrera, Spain, joining a lineage of flamenco singers, has been exploring and evolving the rich flamenco tradition. Together, they create a radical, boundary-pushing sound: flamenco from the future.
ZA!’s latest album was created in collaboration with MegaCobla and Tarta Relena. It presents a modern take on Mediterranean music, even breathing life into the long-extinct Phoenician language. In 2022, Perrate released ‘Tres golpes’, named one of the best flamenco albums of the year by the newspaper El País. Their joint release ‘Jolifanto’, which came out last year to critical acclaim, was described by Songlines magazine as “one of the most important albums in any imagined future of flamenco.” The album takes its title from a Dadaist poem – a nod to the group’s love for breaking musical conventions and venturing into new sonic territory. ZA! & Perrate invite you to a radical rave. Jump on board! Be transformed!
Anna Ferrer:
Anna Ferrer sings, composes, and deconstructs songs from another time. The Spanish singer-songwriter from the island of Menorca draws from her homeland’s musical traditions; jota, bolero, and romance, and fuses them with experimental soundscapes. She has previously collaborated with artists like Marco Mezquida, Eliseo Parra, Clara Peya, Silvia Pérez Cruz, and Clara Fiol, and has also performed as a vocalist in OMAC and Coetus. And what a voice she has! Anna Ferrer’s singing is enchanting, intense, and deeply empathetic.
In her solo work, Anna Ferrer has dedicated herself to breathing new life into her musical heritage in the spirit of artists like Elche, Tarta Relena, Maria Arnal i Marcel Bagés, and even Rosalía. Her critically acclaimed album ‘Parenòstic’, released last year, includes songs from religious rituals as well as songs once sung by field workers. Several tracks are performed in Menorquí, the local language of Menorca, as well as in Spanish. Anna Ferrer has described the album as a tribute to the island’s rural traditions — though a sorrowful one. For where there were once fields of crops, there are now holiday homes and swimming pools. Come help us open this time capsule!
The concert is presented together with Catalans DK.
