Bones, Drones & Tones:
NYX’s practice is centered on vocal embodiment, deep listening, and collective participation.
Participants will be guided through straightforward exercises in breathing, listening, and shared sound. The session will actively use the long, natural 15-second reverberation of the water tower, allowing small sounds to carry and fill the space. The focus is on presence, community, and experiencing how sound feels within the body and the room.
This session is open to both experienced singers and beginners of all ages. No prior singing experience is necessary.

About NYX (UK)
NYX is a choir working at the intersection of choral music, electronic music, and performance. Their work explores connections between body, architecture, and nature through vocal textures and electronics. They have collaborated with Gazelle Twin on the album Deep England, contributed to the Diablo IV soundtrack, and created projects with partners including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the National Theatre Studio, and the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA).
NYX will be performing at ALICE on Friday, September 11.
