Final Descent and HUSET invite you to a meeting between ancient traditions and electronic innovation, rooted in Indian ragas.
The living legend, Sufi musician Lakha Khan, and the Denmark-based electronic composer Tettix Hexer will take the stage at Xenon in HUSET.
For the occasion, the space will be transformed with immersive sound and lighting, creating a room without walls where the music can resonate endlessly.
LAKHA KHAN (IN)
Lakha Khan, a living legend and the undisputed master of the Sindhi sarangi, is a national treasure and a National Award winner for his contribution to Rajasthani folk music. He is perhaps the greatest exponent of the 27-string Sindhi sarangi.
His music is truly secular and spans both classical and folk domains, with a vast songbook that incorporates Hindu bhajans (devotional songs), Sufi kalaams, popular Hindi tunes, and the ancient stories and oral histories of the region spanning the western Indian subcontinent. He sings in over six languages, including Hindi, Marwari, Sindhi, Punjabi, and Multani. Bestowed with a powerful and melodious voice that perfectly complements his instrument, Lakha Khan’s music transcends boundaries and invokes a spiritual oneness in the listener. He is accompanied by his son, Dane Khan, on the dholak — the double-headed Indian folk drum.
Born in the village of Raneri in the Jodhpur district of Rajasthan, India, into a family of traditional musicians from the Manganiyar community, he was trained at an early age in rendering compositions of the Multan school of Manganiyars. His first public performances were in the late ’60s and ’70s in India, and under the guidance of the late ethnomusicologist Komal Kothari, he toured Europe, the UK, Russia, and Japan throughout the ’90s. He resumed international touring in 2013 with Amarrass organizing his first US tour and has since made six international tours, performing at notable festivals in India, including Jodhpur RIFF and Mahindra Kabira Festival.
Lakha Khan is one of the last remaining masters of this complex instrument
and is dedicated to carrying forward the centuries-old musical traditions of
Rajasthani and Multani folk and Sufi music.

TETTIX HEXER (WWW)
Tettix Hexer is producer Jens Leonhard Aagaard. He’s a well-known face on the Danish underground scenes of Odense and Copenhagen, known for his intensely hard-hitting live shows, euphoric and full of longing.
A deeply human take on electronic music that draws equally from Eno and ecstasy, Tettix Hexer is the embodiment of Jens Aagaard’s vision for a world where dancing is the purest form of meditation – putting the ZAK! in muzak.
As one of the most exciting and forward-thinking composers in today’s electronic music scene, Tettix Hexer presents a completely unique and futuristic musical cosmology. He pushes boundaries by forging connections between spiritual and devotional music, artificial intelligence, improvisation, composition, and the interplay between control and chaos, all in pursuit of a
new musical language understood and spoken by both humans and machines.
In Tettix Hexer's universe, mirrors are set up and portals are built between popular music, meme culture, politics, philosophy, offline and online. Tettix Hexer lives out his art daily on social media and in the corners of the Internet for new, experimental electronic music, with a steady stream of releases, mash-ups, remixes, memes, online happenings and a burning dissemination of the art as something that can and must save us from the black abyss that exists out in mortal reality. Thus the person Jens Aagaard and the musician
Tettix Hexer have merged into a total expression, where it no longer makes sense to distinguish between art and music, spirituality and being, being and doing. Tettix Hexer studied raga music in india in 2014, laying the foundation for his deeply personal and devoted venture into music, or, as he puts it: ”When I was in India, I sat in a temple playing the dilruba for several hours a day. My master was convinced that heaven would fall down, if one stopped playing music. And after three months, that became my reality too. I developed an extremely spiritual relationship with playing music. And I have brought that home and used it in Tettix Hexer, where often it’s the Indian scales that form the harmonic foundation,”

LAKKHA KHAN (IN)

TETTIX HEXER (WWW)
