28 kunstnere udklækkes i år fra det Kgl. Danske Kunstakademis Billedkunstskoler, og nu byder Kunsthal Charlottenborg velkommen til åbningen af den årlige afgangsudstilling onsdag 21. april kl. 12-20.

Om udstillingen:

’Afgang’ er den årligt tilbagevendende eksamensudstilling for dimittenderne fra Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademis Billedkunstskoler. Udstillingen fejrer og fremviser værker skabt af de nyeste talenter fra Kunstakademiet og er på én gang kronen på værket og en indsigt flere års uddannelsesproces.

’Afgang 2021’ kurateres af Vermilion Sands, der siden 2016 har produceret udstillinger på deres eget udstillingssted med samme navn. Vermilion Sands består af Malene Dam, Kevin Malcolm og Nikolaj Stobbe, der med hver sin baggrund indenfor kunst og udstillingspraksis, formår at skabe innovative projekter med et internationalt udsyn.

H. Hansen, Nanna Katrine Hansen, Oliver Bak, Pauline Fransson, Peter Højbjerg, Sophie Filtenborg, Sufie Elmgreen (Star Suaning), Svend Sømod, Tomas Joshua Leth, Yujin Jung.

’Afgang 2021’ vises i de klassiske rammer af store ovenlyssale på Kunsthal Charlottenborg og ledsages desuden de sidste tre onsdage i udstillingsperioden af Afgang Live, der byder på performances, omvisninger, filmvisninger m.m. den 5., 12., 19. maj kl. 17-20.

About the exhibition:

‘Afgang’ (MFA Degree Show) is the annual exhibition for the graduates from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Schools of Visual Arts. The exhibition is at one time the culmination of their education and an insight into the latest six years working process.

‘Afgang 2021’ is curated by Vermilion Sands, who since 2016 have been producing exhibitions at their own exhibition venue of the same name. Vermilion Sands consists of Malene Dam, Kevin Malcolm and Nikolaj Stobbe, who, with their respective backgrounds in art and exhibition practice, create innovative projects with an international outlook.

‘Afgang 2021’ is presented in the classical setting of the large skylight halls at Kunsthal Charlottenborg and is accompanied the last three Wednesdays of the exhibition period by ‘Afgang Live’ presenting performances, guided tours, film screenings, etc. on May 5, 12 and 19 at 17-20.
