Final Descent Presents: Les Nuits — Bourrasque (FR) + Delphine Dora (FR) + Elizabeth Vogler (FR)

Step into a night of voices, drones and living folk memory with three French projects reshaping traditional sound from the inside out.

The concert is part of the series Les Nuits, showcasing new, French trad. at various venues in Copenhagen during the fall of 2026.

Bourrasque
Bourrasque creates raw, modal folk music rooted in traditional repertoires from Quercy and the Massif Central. The duo combines violin, banjo, voices, electronics and the percussive stamping of feet into a dense, physical music, somewhere between traditional song, collective dance and open-ended experimentation.

At the heart of Bourrasque is the relationship between Marthe Tourret and Elisa Trebouville of the collective La Crue, and a shared fascination with music emerging from popular cultures. Improvisation, Occitan language, dance and a strong sense of place, belonging and tradition shape their approach.

Their music is earthy and restless at once: voices intertwine with rough strings, electronic textures seep into acoustic sound, and fragments of old melodies emerge over insistent rhythms struck into the floor. The result feels both deeply rooted in traditions feeding from contemporary dance music. Expect a performance carried by magnificent compositions and trance-inducing repetition, constantly shifting between the traditional and experimental.

Delphine Dora
Delphine Dora creates intuitive, exploratory music centered around piano, organ, voice and improvisation. Her work moves freely between folk, minimalism, contemporary classical music, electroacoustic sound and poetic expression, forming a highly personal language where composition often emerges in the moment of performance.

Her music is shaped by openness, spontaneity and a strong sensitivity to acoustics and places. Pipe organs, keyboards, field recordings, electronics and voice are used to blur the boundaries between the physical and the ethereal, the contemporary and the archaic. Dora often works through instant composition, allowing sound to unfold according to the atmosphere of a room, landscape or encounter.

A prolific solo artist and collaborator, she has also drawn deeply from poetry, setting and responding to writers including Sylvia Plath, Kathleen Raine, Ingeborg Bachmann and Walt Whitman. The result is intimate and elusive at once: drifting piano figures, ghostly voices, barely perceptible drones and fragments of environmental sound, suspended somewhere between avant-folk, dreamlike ritual and free improvisation.

Elizabeth Vogler
Elizabeth Vogler creates electroacoustic music centered around voice and drones. Her pieces combine voice, choir-like layers, drones, electronic movements, field recordings and patchworks of sound into a textured, organic whole, somewhere between imagined traditional song and unstable electronic ritual.

Her live performances are shaped by improvisation, using electronics, voice and the deep drone of the shruti box to move away from fixed composition and into something more immediate. Sounds are collected, transformed, decomposed and rebuilt; the voice becomes a way of carrying fragments of memory, tradition and place.

Having studied musicology, electroacoustic composition and polyphonic singing, Vogler draws from Bulgarian vocal techniques, Occitan traditions from Béarn, and an ethereal pop sensibility. Her music does not treat tradition as a closed language, but as a source of texture, breath and feeling. The result is delicate and stormy at once: interwoven voices, throbbing glitches, acoustic resonance and a trance of echoes.
