The sound of Canopy reflects the sound of Sumosui’s record bag, rooted in the 70s and 80s funk & disco, with tropical influences and cosmic synthesizers over tastefully modernized beats and house music infusions.

Sumosui is a New Zealand-born, Portugal-based DJ & label head.His life on the decks has taken him to 5 continents and dozens of countries. He has played some of the most respected clubs, festivals and radio stations with some of the hottest talent. FromBali to Berlin, Paris to London, Tokyo to Ibiza and beyond.

Having already lived many lives in the music industry, he now heads up what is fast becoming a cult label, “Canopy”. The The premise of Canopy is to reignite forgotten bombs and add a healthy dose of modern club flavour and retro-futurism to the mix.
