Darius Heid is a composer/improvisor/pianist from Germany. Digging deep into issues of resonance, focus and timbre, his solo concerts are always personal journeys of subtle intensities. He finds a space between strict discipline and spontaneous playfulness that invites listeners to hear, feel and enjoy sounds and their synergies in the room. The music flows slowly, deeply, unfolding subtle nuances, depths and tensions on the way.

The two Danish improv musicians Peter Ole
Jørgens and Jonathan Aardestrup started as a duo at the beginning of 2023 and have since then facilitated several meetings with international guests in Denmark, including Radim Hanousek (CZ), Jose Lencastra (PT) and Andreas Røysum (NO). For Winterjazz 2025, they have invited the alto saxophonist Signe Emmeluth, who currently is one of the most active musicians on the Scandinavian scene.

The trio will cultivate an insatiable hunger to find new ways in improvisation and thereby surprise themselves as well as the audience. It can be in direct and rhythmic rawness or whimsical minimalism, sharp shifts in dynamics and intensity or layers of sounds that imperceptibly take over the soundscape from one another.

/////Sarah Buchner, solo voice

Sarah Buchner is an experimental vocalist, composer and puppet enthusiast based in Copenhagen. Her work explores the outer edges of vocal human expression through improvisation and composition. In her work as a sound-puppeteer she adds live animation of objects, figures and puppets to her vocal soundscape. Her playful, yet destructive approach to aesthetic expectations towards vocals, is a result of artistic self-radicalization and joy. Occasionally she uses various flutes and objects as extensions of her resonance body. Beyond her works for solo voice she mostly chooses forms of collaborative and cross-disciplinary work. She is founding member of the Copenhagen based group SONO FIGURES SOCIETY that artistically investigates the cross-disciplinary possibilities around the term sound puppetry.

Wolfskin Ensemble is a Copenhagen-based contemporary ensemble led by the 7 musicians of the group. WE works as a democratic organism and focus mainly but not exclusively on original scores penned by the individual members and developed in plenum. They are dealing with a wide range of musical ideas - graphic, written as well as conventional notated - and their live performances often covers a wide palette of contrasting moods with bizarre and absurd performative pieces followed by dark and gloomy musical songs or minimalist conceptual directions.
