OTOOTO is the newest addition to Danish jazz in international class. Since the band was formed in 2019, they have garnered recognition from radio stations and reviewers and already in November 2020 they could look back on a year with countless concerts and three single releases.
The sound of OTOOTO is defined by Wallace and Due's lyrical and light melodies paired with a distinctive sound of the legendary vintage synthesizer Juno 60. Add a strong Neo-Soul/R&B groove and the framework is formed. The songs fill the listener with a feeling of hope and joy while the music unfolds in a harmonious and playful way.
The group is currently making new music to follow up on their 2nd album "Dosage" from June 2022 and the critically acclaimed debut record "This Love Is For You" From 2021. OTOOTO is a unique composition that presents five great personalities in Danish jazz in a way that has not been seen before.

Clapper mixes the sound of beat music from the American West Coast with modern fusion jazz. A brand new shot at the tribe of unique Aarhusian bands with a zeal for renewal within Danish jazz. The four musicians are not exactly new to the domestic jazz scene. The band's members include musicians from the bands Abekejser, Hvalfugl, Karmen Rõivassepp Quartet, Bangin' Bülow's Nice Jazz Quartet, Casper Hejlesen Quartet, etc.
"Jazz isn't dead, it just smells funny", so said Frank Zappa in 1973. A time when jazz sought mixtures with other genres in the hope of further development. Here, almost 50 years later, the DK jazz scene is more diverse than ever before. Today's jazz smells of everything from rock, hip-hop, folk music, techno, pop, and a mixture of it all.
Is it even jazz anymore?
For the four good friends in Clapper, it doesn't matter so much what you call it. All that matters is that it sounds cool!
"For us it is not important to live up to any genre ideal", says guitarist Jeppe Lavsen and continues; "We meet and play and improvise over some musical ideas we think sound great. We have played together for so many years that we quickly find our way into a common universe when we play. And then it's just a matter of sorting and selecting the coolest ideas".

Bandets medlemmer tæller bl.a. musikere fra bandsene Abekejser, Hvalfugl, Karmen Rõivassepp Quartet, Bangin’ Bülows Nice Jazz Quartet, Casper Hejlesen Kvartet, m.fl.
”Jazz isn’t dead, it just smells funny”, sådan sagde Frank Zappa i 1973.
