Watch the great 20s-film with Die Asta and Greta Garbo in Post-first-world-war Vienna with live score by Vanity Productions.

Christian Stadsgaard, the co-founder of the record label Posh Isolation, has been behind a number of significant experimental music and performance projects since the 00s; Damien Dubrovnik, Severe Photography, The Empire Line and Vanity Productions, to name a few.

Most recently, he has released the EP 'The Last Picture Show', and on 16 October he very appropriately closes this year's festival with a silent film concert based on G. W. Pabst's 'Behind the mask of joy'. It will be a hypnogogic live score to a star-studded production about hyperinflation, poverty and the booming entertainment industry in 1920s Vienna.

So join us for an evening of hedonism and hopelessness, when Christian Stadsgaard visits Cinemateket with his solo project Vanity Productions.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Cinemateket.

We offer CAFx Mikropolis drinks after the film

The Press Writes:

"Grandiose, bleak and obliterate, like a seascape painting by Gerhart Richter".

"Like one of those nights when one can hope to resurface the next day as something bigger and better, a thought that is necessary to go on and a message that what those people are looking for is not forever lost and about to come back".

"Repetitive loop manipulations creating desolated clouds of sonic dust and a wet haze of different pitches and noise elements full of melancholy and introspection".
