rolle i vores samtid.

Om fotografiets potentiale og ansvar i samtalen om omsorg

Foredrag ved Katy Hundertmark og kunstnerpræsentationer ved Sunniva Hestenes og Frederikke Jul Vedelsby

Hvordan kan fotografiet skabe empati, forståelse og omsorg for andre mennesker? Og hvilket ansvar følger med, når vi fotograferer og betragter hinanden? Med afsæt i fotografiteoretikeren Fred Ritchins udsagn "You can't bomb a people when you know them" inviterer Katy Hundertmark til en samtale om fotografiets muligheder for at skabe forbindelser mellem mennesker og åbne for nye perspektiver på den Anden.
Samtalen er den første i en række af tre TABLE TALKS, som FOTO STUDIO præsenterer i forbindelse med udstillingen Ung Dansk Fotografi ’26 på Fotografisk Center.

TABLE TALKS er et samtaleformat, hvor kunstnere, fagprofessionelle og publikum mødes omkring bordet til åbne samtaler om fotografiets rolle i vores samtid. Formatet udfordrer den traditionelle artist talk og skaber et uformelt og ikke-hierarkisk
rum for samtale, hvor alle inviteres til at lytte, spørge og bidrage med deres perspektiver.

Der er gratis adgang, og undervejs byder vi på en let servering. Alle er velkomne, uanset faglig baggrund eller forhåndskendskab til fotografi.

Samtalen foregår på engelsk. Deltagelse er gratis, men tilmelding er nødvendig, da der er et begrænset antal pladser.

Om Katy Hundertmark
Katy Hundertmark (f. 1992, Muscat, Oman) er kunstner og redaktør med base i Amsterdam. Hun er Managing Editor for FOAM Magazine og har tidligere arbejdet for fototidsskriftet NOTES. Sammen med Nuno Beijinho og Rodrigo Red Sandoval driver hun det kunstnerdrevne projektrum Mutter i Amsterdam og er desuden gæsteunderviser på ÉCALs kandidatuddannelse i fotografi.

FOTO STUDIO består af billedkunstnerne Tine Bek, Paula Duvå og Mads Holm. Kollektivet har base i København og har siden 2022 faciliteret samtaler om fotografi.

TABLE TALKS: See Eye to Eye

On photography's potential and responsibility in conversations about care Saturday 21 November 2026, 12:00–15:00

How can photography foster empathy, understanding and care for others? And what responsibilities come with photographing and looking at one another? Taking as its starting point photography theorist Fred Ritchin's statement, "You can't bomb a people when you know them", Katy Hundertmark invites us to explore
photography's potential to create connections between people and open up new perspectives on the Other.

This is the first in a series of three TABLE TALKS presented by FOTO STUDIO as part of the exhibition Young Danish Photography ’26 at Fotografisk Center.

About TABLE TALKS
TABLE TALKS is a conversation format that brings together artists, professionals and audiences around the table for open discussions about the role of photography in our contemporary world. The format challenges the traditional artist talk by creating an informal, non-hierarchical space for conversation, where everyone is invited to listen, ask questions and contribute
their own perspectives.

Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome, regardless of professional background or prior knowledge of photography.

The conversation will be held in English. Participation is free, but registration is required as places are limited.

About Katy Hundertmark
Katy Hundertmark (b. 1992, Muscat, Oman) is an artist and editor based in Amsterdam. She is Managing Editor of FOAM Magazine and previously worked for the photography journal NOTES. Together with Nuno Beijinho and Rodrigo Red Sandoval, she runs Mutter, an artist-run project space in Amsterdam. She is also a guest lecturer on the MA Photography programme at ÉCAL.

FOTO STUDIO consists of visual artists Tine Bek, Paula Duvå and Mads Holm. Based in Copenhagen, the collective has been facilitating conversations about photography since 2022.
