Post-Corporeal Performativity and the Staging of Identities in the Age of Social Media, November 2.-25th in ARKEN Museum for Samtidskunst.

International performance art festival curated annually by Live Art Denmark since 2014 for an intergenerational audience. This year we are looking at the immense creative potential of the cyberspace for everybody, artists or not, to perform and investigate new identities and new bodies.

Live Art Danmarks (DK) wrestling workshop is a prestudy for a new performance art work investigating contemporary masculinity. The workshop is inspired by Heather Cassils (US) and Shaun Leonardo (US7MX) , and by the Mexican "Lucha Libre" tradition.

Rosie Gibbens (UK) playfully blends bodies with objects to unpack and question the prospective future body as it becomes increasingly ‘optimised’ by technological augmentation. Using absurd humour, she explores the slippery overlaps between identity, labour and consumer desire.

Boaz Barkan (DK): Our Other Body, is a performance that examines internalized racism. It is a performative anatomical description of a hidden organ, an organ which stores racist ideas and influences the function and image of our own body.

LAFB24 is supported by Statens Kunstfond, Augustinusfonden and ARKEN Museum for Contemporary Art. The concept "Live Art for Børn" is for all age groups.
