In English:
The experimental saxophonist, singer, and composer Korhan Futacı is visiting ALICE with his quartet during Vinterjazz. Together, they bring a sound deeply rooted in Anatolia yet unbound by time and place.

As soon as Korhan Futacı presses his lips to the saxophone’s mouthpiece, the ritual begins. During his concert at ALICE, the prominent figure of Turkey's alternative music scene will guide us from the chaos of Istanbul to an uncharted realm. A place filled with vitality but also darkness. On stage, he is joined by Barış Ertürk on saxophone, Esat Ekincioğlu on double bass, and Erdem Göymen on drums. Korhan Futacı himself takes the lead on saxophone and vocals.

Korhan Futacı has performed on countless stages. Notably, he appeared as part of the free jazz group Konstrukt at Roskilde Festival in 2019 and at ALICE in 2018. With his versatile artistic expression, he has collaborated with prominent musicians across genres, including free jazz icon Peter Brötzmann, percussionist Okay Temiz, Thurston Moore from the rock band Sonic Youth, and Marshall Allen of the jazz ensemble Sun Ra Arkestra. Futacı returns to ALICE with his solo project, which fuses traditional Turkish music with free improvisations. With his quartet, he draws us into an immersive musical universe that transcends time and place. It promises to be nothing short of spectacular!
