As part of our commitment to respecting your privacy, Highpass does not collect or share your personal information.
We don't use any cookies by default. If you've changed any of your settings, such as manually customising the theme, then we may need to store that information in your browser. However, we'll also provide you with a method for removing any of that data. We store it to provide necessary site functionality — not track you around the internet.
If you visit a page on Highpass that contains a form, you may notice that we generate a CSRF Token and save it as a cookie. This is essential for security because it prevents a malicious website from tricking you into submitting a POST request to us — otherwise known as cross-site request forgery.
If you are an event promoter with a Highpass account, then we store your Session ID as a cookie so that we can log you in and keep you logged in. This gets removed when you log out of your account.
We use anonymised analytics on Highpass by default. They enable us to provide event promoters with some simple feedback about how their events are doing. We use Simple Analytics, which is software that provides privacy-friendly analytics without tracking you or storing any of your personally-identifiable information. You can read what Simple Analytics collects in their documentation. If you want to opt-out of all analytics, we also respect all Do Not Track requests.
We do not collect or store IP addresses or User-Agent strings in our web server logs. All IP addresses are replaced with zeros — so that they appear as 0.0.0.0 — and we simply drop all User-Agent strings. We also rotate those logs on a daily basis and delete old logs during that rotation.
Our website may link to external sites and services that are not operated by us; for example, in event descriptions, or the options provided when selecting your preferred calendar or map service. Please be aware that we have no control over these sites and services' practices and content. We cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies. If you know of privacy-conscious alternatives to these services that you'd like us to add to Highpass, don't hesitate to contact us.
If you contact us via email, we'll use your contact information to respond to you. We won't sell this information, or share it with anyone else. Our email account is hosted with Fastmail, a privacy-conscious email provider.
We encourage you to test Highpass with tools such as Blacklight to verify our claims for yourself. We think tools like these are great resources for learning more about the methods through which activity is tracked on the internet. If you have any feedback for us or if there's anything we could be doing better, don't hesitate to get in touch.
