Live from the Floor is Jolene's new thursday evening event series, Showcasing live acts and concerts from across the electronic music universe and beyond - from ambient to techno passing through instrumental, hiphop, jazz and more. By placing artists on the same level of the audience, effectively tearing down any barrier between the crowd and the artist, Live from the floor offers an intimate, immersive experience.
For this one, we have invited norwegian duo Soft As Snow and Nic Krog (fka as Misantrop) from Foul-Up to join us from berlin for a night of hybrid and deconstructed pop and experimental live music.
Both artists have new exciting music coming out recently, which will be presented for the first time in Denmark during the night.
Soft As Snow having recently relased their 3rd album “metal.wet” via Beacon Sound which features a guest appearance from Brother May), while Nic is about to release his debut full length "Perfect Pattern" via Nick Klein's "physic liberation" label, expanding the artist’s usual palette with influence from 20th-century experimental compositional music, queer house music from the 90s, and the storytelling of film and soap operas.

About The Artists
Soft as Snow (Live) (DE-NO)
Soft as Snow is a Norwegian duo based in Berlin. Their music exists in a hybrid of deconstructed pop and club culture, forming “electronic music pushed to the brink of collapse” (The Wire). Their deeply immersive live shows combine glitchy sensuality, shapeshifting electronic experimentation and multifaceted vocals. Together with Guynoid’s posthuman, warped visuals, they create a world of uneasy metamorphosis.
They have toured extensively performing in clubs, festivals and art galleries internationally including L.E.V. Festival, Roskilde Festival, Lunchmeat Festival, Athens Digital Arts Festival, Insomnia Festival, Berghain, ://about blank, Corsica Studios, Disconnect and Roter Salon, Volksbühne.
Their catalogue include, in addition to numerous EPs and tapes, critically acclaimed albums ‘Deep Wave’ on Houndstooth from 2018 and ‘Bit Rot’ on Mexico City label Infinite Machine from 2022.
Nic Krog (Live)
As a music and sound artist, Nic Krog’s signature is a distinct and volatile mixture of bass-heavy club music and subversive sound art intertwined with spoken word. The artist’s work is characterised by a diaristic approach, documenting mental processes and psychological baggage from growing up as a queer outsider in smalltown Denmark to being an introvert in the world’s hedonism capital, Berlin. Their debut album “Reproaching the Absurd” (released under former artist moniker Misantrop by Opal Tapes in 2021), explored the artist’s enduring struggle with depression while their next release, the audio play “Perfect Pattern” (forthcoming on Psychic Liberation), is a first foray into an overt narrative style, revolving around obsessive and compulsive traits that revealed themselves in the aftermath of the fight against depression. The new work expands the artist’s usual palette with influence from 20th-century experimental compositional music, queer house music from the 90s, and the storytelling of film and soap operas.
“Perfect Pattern” is the artist’s first outing after retiring the Misantrop moniker in favour of their own name. In addition to Opal Tapes, earlier works count contributions to labels such as Lime Lodge and Petrola 80, and collaborative projects Glass Knot and Splash Pattern & Misantrop. Their performance history includes appearances at Ved Siden Af and Mayhem (Copenhagen), Berghain’s Säule and KW Institute for Contemporary Art (Berlin), Intonal Festival (Malmö), and Control Club (Bucharest). In 2016, the artist founded the label Foul-Up which has since evolved into a Noods Radio show. Exhibiting a range as a DJ that is as expansive as their artist work, they have created mixes for platforms such as Rinse FM and Berlin Community Radio and have been supported twice with RA’s "Mix of the Day".
