Maria Bertel - basun+FX
Jim Kimchi - elektronik
Maria Bertel
BE) Flow Festival (FL) Supersonic Festival (UK) Raw Power festival (UK) Sonic Protest (FR) Gong Tomorrow (DK) Roskilde Festival (DK) Borealis (NO) OFF festival B-sides festival (CH) Mteo festival (FR)
Hans udgivelser omfatter Pure Gravy EP (2020, Paracusia Media), Space Container (2022, Detroit Underground), Satellite Therapy (2022, glitch.cool) og Organ Fodder EP (2022, glitch.cool).

Maria Bertel
Is a Danish trombone player, improviser and composer. The acoustic sound of her instrument amplified creates an output that draws inspiration from drone and noise music. What is normally not hearable is presenting itself, movements, metal and breath becomes a swirling part of her compositions. Changing organic patterns are emerging, tiny sounds becomes brutally clear as well as the range of overtones of the instrument.
Apart from her work as a solo artist she performs and composes in groups like the notorious four piece noise rock band Selvhenter and improvised noise outfit duo Nina Garcia & Maria Bertel. She has also collaborated with artists like Chinese saxophone player Lao Dan, and Virginia Genta of Jooklo duo.
She has presented her music in various festivals like: Oct-Loft Festival Shenzhen (CHI), LUFF (CH) Summer Bummer (BE) Flow Festival (FL) Supersonic Festival (UK) Raw Power festival (UK) Sonic Protest (FR) Gong Tomorrow (DK) Roskilde Festival (DK) Borealis (NO) OFF festival B-sides festival (CH) Meteo festival (FR)
She is one of five cofounders of the Copenhagen based art collective eget værelse founded in 2010.
Jim Kimchi
As a co-founder of the glitch.cool art collective, Copenhagen-based Jim Kimchi explores the varied soundscapes that erupt from the intensive resampling process inherent to his style of composition and sound design. By combining elements from EDM, IDM, free jazz, and glitch music in a hyperglitch-focused energyfest, he navigates a currently-uncharted sonic territory. Delving into the rhythmic interplay between elastic and tightly-composed compositional structures, Jim Kimchi feeds your ears cloudy ambience, clipping sub bass, and feedback-generated blips all fermented into a spicy brine leaking into your auditory cortex.
Currently he is working with a series of jazz and classical improvisors to compose an collage amalgamation of ambient, free jazz, neoclassical, deconstructed club, glitch and noise music.
With his experience with Max/MSP, he has been exploring alternative ways of performing with laptops, with a focus on improvisations with the computer. This has resulted in performances with playing cards and QR codes to trigger sound and effects, and other performances using hand gestures to modulate generative sequencing and resampled audio. A total deconstruction of the concept of "laptop performance" has also manifested as a series of noise concerts where the physical laptop was disassembled and destroyed while using contact microphones and audio transducers for picking up the sound and its feedback.
His releases include Pure Gravy EP (2020, Paracusia Media), Space Container (2022, Detroit Underground), Satellite Therapy (2022, glitch.cool) and Organ Fodder EP (2022, glitch.cool).
He frequents the Danish noise and experimental scene and has performed on festivals such as SUPERNOISE (DK), Club Deconstruct (DK), Vinterjazz (DK), Kallelse (SE), Stromspiesser (DE), Unity Gathering (PO), Idealistic Festival (PO) and Scorpion Métal (FR), as well as commissions for the Danish Ministry of Culture and The Danish Film Institute.

You are hereby invited to the first ever Flutio Night, a PRiMi Studio Night with flutes galore. Four improvisation prompts designed to explore the flute as familiar and unfamiliar territory will be presented. Exploring the flute as a body, through a body, in the physical space and in the metaphorical space. If you want to join the workshop please reach out to Mette Hommel. The more the merrier. Viva la revoflution.
PRiMi is supported by Musikudvalget and Kultur & Fritidsudvalget in Københavns Kommune, Statens Kunstfond, Roskilde Festival Fonden and Koda Kultur.
