Final Descent x Loppen: Vinterjazz - Širom (SI) + Final Descent DJs

The Slovenian trio Širom, renowned for their unique fusion of "imaginary folk," cosmic jazz, and hypnotic krautrock, will perform at Loppen during Vinterjazz 2025. Before and after the show, Final Descent DJs will enhance the atmosphere with a selection of trippy, folky, and droney sounds.

The Slovenian trio Širom brings their mesmerizing fusion of "imaginary folk," cosmic jazz, and hypnotic krautrock to Musik Loppen during Vinterjazz 2025. Drawing inspiration from diverse traditions—North African Gnawa, Middle Eastern meditation, and Indonesian gamelan—Širom crafts a unique soundscape using an array of instruments, from hurdy-gurdy and balafon to ocarinas and handmade resonators.

The trio—Ana Kravanja, Iztok Koren, and Samo Kutin—has captivated audiences at festivals like Roskilde and Fanø Free Folk Festival with their spellbinding performances. Their latest album, The Liquified Throne of Simplicity, celebrated as one of the best records of 2022 by The Quietus, showcases their extraordinary ability to blend intuition and experimentation into a seamless, transportive experience.

Before and after the show, Emilia and Martin of Final Descent will be spinning trippy, folky, and droney records to set the mood.
