Free Punk Big Band

Hands On Fire is a free-punk big band consisting of musicians from diverse backgrounds, ranging from improvised jazz and punk to classical and ambient music.

The music is a mosaic of improvisation and composition that revolves around themes of movement, collectivity and decay/transformation. In collaboration with Portuguese multimedia artist Mariana Charrua, Hands On Fire becomes a cross-disciplinary performance and a high-energy trance state, where sound, words and space merge hand in hand.

Expect an overstimulating experience where solid compositional foundations give rise to bursts of noise, expressive wildness and free solo excursions in a musical universe that nods back to the spiritual jazz of the 1960s while keeping one foot in 1980s no wave and today’s genre-free experimental scene.

Hands On Fire is part of the collective Movement Shaped Like a Heart and includes members from Echo, Bravo, Boujeloud, Vs Doom, Rosyán, Bending Backwards and more.

Final Descent Into Vinterjazz

Two nights, two stages and ten acts exploring the outer edges of jazz – from manic noise rock, complex math and monolithic drone rock to minimalist shoegaze, solo performances, electronic experiments and even a detour to a Ghanaian percussion legend.

Final Descent Into Vinterjazz is a collaboration between Final Descent and HUSET CPH, presenting a deep dive into everything jazz can also be, spread across the two top floors of Huset.
