Cosmic Connections - Exhibition by Iskra Dinkova - Åben Festival 2023

You are cordially invited to the 3rd showcase of the investigative conceptual art project ✨Cosmic Connections✨ initiated by Copenhagen-based conceptual artist and curator Iskra Dinkova, part of Åben Festival 2023.

This exhibition focuses on technology and human connection.

The artworks featured in the exhibition were created based on ethnographic research, where qualitative and quantitative data was gathered, throughout the examination of how technology, particularly online dating, impacts our offline language, mannerisms, ability to connect with others, and self-image.

The findings of this research resulted in the exhibited pieces - visualizations of the gender-, orientation-, and identity-diverse individuals who participated in the investigation, and formulated two hypotheses.

To hear what those are, you are encouraged to engage in dialogue with the art and other visitors, as well as the artist, who will be present for Åben Festival’s opening ceremony at Østre Elværk, on Friday, Sept 8, from kl. 16.00 to kl. 18.00.

In engaging with the work, together we will foster a more nuanced conversation about the outcomes of technological developments and their effects on human connectivity.
