Tanz Mein Herz is a French avant-folk and drone collective rooted in Auvergne’s fertile experimental music scene. Emerging in the mid-2000s as a creative free space for members of Toad and France, the group quickly grew into a fluid ensemble without fixed borders or prescribed roles. What began as a handful of musicians searching for new modes of shared listening evolved into a workshop for long-form sound, a place where tempo, pulse and harmonic drift became tools for exploring collective movement, resonance and the hypnotic pull of infinite rhythmic patterns.

As the lineup expanded, Tanz Mein Herz gathered central figures from the wider Standard In-Fi constellation - musicians united by a deep interest in acoustics, trance-inducing repetition and the subtle tensions between composition and improvisation. Together they craft extended sonic architectures built from earthy textures, circular guitar figures, bowed strings, hand percussion and slowly shifting drones. Their music is less a sequence of songs and more a living organism, unfolding patiently, thickening and collapsing, then reassembling itself in new shapes.

What defines Tanz Mein Herz is not genre but intent: a commitment to collective creation and a belief that sound can reveal new forms of togetherness. Their performances often feel ritualistic, drawing listeners into a kaleidoscopic soundscape where overtones shimmer, rhythms converge and dissolve, and individual contributions merge into a resonant whole. The result is music that is simultaneously grounded and cosmic - music that invites the body to sway, the mind to wander and time itself to stretch.

Two nights, two stages and ten acts exploring the outer edges of jazz – from manic noise rock, complex math and monolithic drone rock to minimalist shoegaze, solo performances, electronic experiments and even a detour to a Ghanaian percussion legend.

Final Descent Into Vinterjazz is a collaboration between Final Descent and HUSET CPH, presenting a deep dive into everything jazz can also be, spread across the two top floors of Huset.
